Public Children Services Agency

Our Public Children Services Agency offers much more than just Child Protective Services

Our Mission: The Sandusky County Children Services Unit is committed to protecting abused, neglected or dependent children while also recognizing the importance of preserving the sanctity of the family. This is achieved by assisting families to become self-sufficient and able to provide a safe and stable environment for their children through the utilization of community resources.

In addition to Children Services, our division also administors:

Other ongoing services to the foster parents include: foster care reimbursement, clothing allowance, out-of-county mileage reimbursement, medical coverage for the child, respite care, case management and the Foster Parent Committee.

Services to adoptive parents include the following: adoption assistance/subsidies, pre-finalization services, post finalization services, medical card and case management. It is important to note that eligibility for some of the financial programs must be determined (on either the child and/or the family) and therefore, may not be available for every adoptive family.

The Sandusky County Adult Protection Services Unit is committed to protecting adults at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation while recognizing the importance of their right to live independently. This is achieved through the provision of appropriate supportive services and referral to community resources.
