TRIPS
Transportation Resources for Independent People of Sandusky County (TRIPS) provides transportation services to Seniors, the general public, or other organizations through contracts with TRIPS. It is a partnership of county government and social service agencies collaborating to provide a rural transit service. It offers transportation Monday through Saturday by reservation. Closed holidays.
Transportation to and from medical appointments is a service that is available to Medicaid eligible residents of Sandusky County. In order to qualify, one must be eligible under Title 19 regulations.
- Title 19 Transportation: Also called Non-Emergency Transportation, individuals eligible for medical transportation services through this program must be in receipt of ongoing Medicaid benefits.
- Pregnancy Related Services Transportation: Women who receive regular Medicaid or Presumptive Medicaid based upon pregnancy are eligible for transportation to Medical appointments.

HealthChek
HEALTHCHEK is a program offering preventative health care services to all Medicaid eligible children under the age of 21. For more information regarding the HEALTHCHEK program, contact the Sandusky County Dept. of Job and Family Services at 419-334-3891.
A. The benefits of the preventative health care services offered through HEALTHCHEK include:
- an increase in your child’s well-being;
- a reduced risk to your child’s health;
- help identifying problems early and treating them before they become more serious; and
- provides education to the family so that they can have the best health possible.
Healthchek offers your child a
- comprehensive physical exam;
- health and developmental history;
- lab tests;
- immunizations;
- health education; and
- assessments of your child’s
- nutrition
- vision
- hearing
- development
- psychology
- dental health
Dental, vision and hearing services may be scheduled separately from other Healthchek screening visits if you so desire.
Your child may receive services under the HEALTHCHEK program as follows:

As long as your child remains eligible for Medicaid, you may request HEALTHCHEK screening, vision, hearing and dental services for your child.
Your local County Department of Human Services can provide you with a list of local doctors, dentists and other medical providers if you do not already have one for your child. You can also receive help in setting up appointments and arranging transportation to and from the medical appointments if needed.
HEALTHCHEK does not require you to use one of the providers on the County list. That list is provided merely as an aid to help you find a doctor if your child does not already have one. Your child may receive medical services from the provider of your choice as long as he or she is a certified Medicaid provider.
HEALTHCHEK screening, vision, hearing, and dental services are available at no cost to the eligible HEALTHCHEK child or their caretaker.
Voter Registration
Sandusky County Department of Job and Family Services is a designated Voter Registration Agency as required by the National Voter Registration Act of 1993. Citizens may register to vote at this office or they may change their voter registration address. If you need assistance in completing a voter registration form, we will help you. In addition, we will submit the form to the Sandusky County Board of Elections for you within 5 days of the completion of the form.
